Silver Wings Passivhaus Planning Approved

We were thrilled to receive the news last month that our scheme for Warrington’s first certified Passivhaus home has had planning approved. The project will incorporate low embodied carbon building materials, including timber frame and cladding, recycled newspaper insulation and concrete-free foundations.

This home will be certified to the Passivhaus standard, so will be exceptionally comfortable and energy efficient. In addition it will include a significant array of solar PV panels to generate energy for the air source heat pump and car charging. Whilst we love PV panels, in this case they are cunningly disguised from ground level by using a beautiful blue, green roof!

As a passionate gardener our Client has worked closely with the landscape designer to come up with an ecology-rich design, which incorporates swales, rills and rainwater chutes, as well as growing and relaxing space.

This will make a truly gorgeous home and we can’t wait to get started on the build in spring next year.
