our approach
who we are
We are Hannah, Julie, Stephen, Hugh, and Billie (the office support dog). Between us we are cycle-enthusiasts, football referees, hikers, and plant-lovers, as well as a team of friendly and innovative Architects and designers.
Our passion lies in Passivhaus and low carbon design and we like to approach every project holistically, considering the way in which a building impacts both people and the planet.
what we do
We offer a range of architectural design and sustainability services, starting from concept design all the way through to Contract Administration and after care. To help make your project as sustainable as possible, we use PHPP modelling (Passivhaus Planning Package) to measure the in-use energy and embodied carbon of your project.
We work on a wide range of projects; from new build Passivhaus homes to master planning; deep whole house retrofits to high quality extensions. To see a selection of previous and current projects you can take a look here.
how we work
Designing a space is about much more than bricks and mortar, purpose and practicalities, or rules and regulations.
A design has to be informed by those who the decisions will most impact and so are often closest to the solutions. You. We believe that Co-design is the best route to a space or place which is responsive and appropriate to the wants and needs of its user, creating beautiful designs which are truly loved and therefore stand the test of time.
Our process involves offering clients ongoing support through the RIBA work stages 0 to 7. Meaning we can stay involved through of a project all the way through to completion if required.
Finding the right professionals to bring designs to fruition can feel a daunting prospect, so we can help with this too. We have good working relationships with specialist contractors and consultants. Ranging from advice on renewable energy generation and structural engineering to the all-important construction.
We are more than happy to talk through our services and process, share examples of projects and discuss your plans. Just give us a call.
what does that look like
We are here to talk about your project and a call is usually the best way to get started.
If you are able to fill in the contact form here with a few more details, this really helps us to get the most out of that first conversation.
